The survey of manufacturing companies carried out by SRM reaches its fourth edition. Launched in 2021, the analysis now includes all the post-pandemic years characterized by significant changes on the geopolitical level that have affected the activity of companies.
In a globalized context, the extremely changeable scenario has, in fact, had its effects on the entire production system, with consequences on demand and therefore on investments and future prospects.

The availability of a four-year historical series allows us to trace a dynamic profile of the prevailing trends among Italian and southern companies in particular.
The survey is conducted every year during the first half of July and involves around 700 manufacturing companies in Italy (of which 300 in the South). Significant results are also obtained for the main southern regions, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.

All the companies interviewed are structured in the form of joint-stock companies.

The owners and managers of the companies were questioned on various aspects of business activity: the trend of investments, especially innovative ones, in relation to the PNRR, the incentive system for companies, the presence on international markets, supply relationships.

In this report, attention will be focused on the topic of business investments and the available tools: PNRR and ZES.
Where of interest, the results are presented by looking at the four-year profile of the companies' responses.
